Donna and Robert Gaffney left San Francisco after 20 years to open up their wine bar in Santa Rosa in 1992. Donna also worked for 6 years at the London Wine Bar (the first wine bar in the United States, openned 1973) while Robert garnered some wine experience working for small local San Francisco wine brokers. After 7 productive years in Sonoma County, the proverbial "Seven Year Itch" and the coastal lure of Encinitas led the Gaffneys to relocate in February 2000.

Since 1992, we've had an $8 corkage fee, and $8 discount for retail sales.

Visiting local caterers and chefs prepare a dinner on the premises one Sunday each month.
(eg: John Malcolm from Azul's of La Jolla prepared our lovely Bastille Day Feast.)
A variety of live music one or two Sundays per month.

Visiting Wine-maker events monthly.
We carry an extensive list of wines from all over the world for you to taste in house or take home to enjoy.
We serve hand-selected tasting flights that change daily. We'll be happy to recommend something to suit your pallette or suggest a good bottle to try at home.
